White Cube chocolate bar design
Project type
Product/packaging design
Date
2023
Location
Amsterdam
Software used
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
These are chocolate bars (one milk, one dark chocolate) for the White Cube – a museum on a former Unilever plantation in the DRC, founded by the Congolese Plantation Workers Art League (CATPC) and the Dutch art institute Human Activities (IHA).
I designed these chocolate bars together with the artists. The chocolate pieces are in the shape of the White Cube museum and inside the wrapper is a print of a drawing by CATPC member Ced’art Tamasala. The drawings on the outside of the wrappers are by CATPC member Matthieu Kasiama.
All profits go to CATPC’s ’Post-Plantation’ land restoration project.
The chocolate bars are currently available for purchase at the Van Abbemuseum, where CATPC has a solo show, and will be sold in museum shops and institutions across the Netherlands. They will also be on the webshop of Human Activities.
