All I Ask for is a Truly Wild Ocean

I made this poster as part of the project Ik Wil Gewoon, initiated by illustrator Ellis Tolsma. She invited artists to design a poster, come print it at her risoprint studio in Utrecht, and paste it across the city.

My poster is inspired by the recent documentary where David Attenborough says we need “a truly wild ocean” for humans to survive on this planet. Kelp forests keep the ocean wild and thriving, while otters do the same for the kelp, by eating sea urchins. I decided to focus on this trio that each play a part in strengthening their ecosystem.
